Blow the trumpet at each Sabbath and New Moon: “In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, ye shall have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.” (Leviticus 23:24–25, KJV) Share meals of thanksgiving with family and community. Spend time in prayer, repentance, and renewal before the Lord. Reflect on the trumpet as a call to gather and a reminder of Messiah’s promised return. “Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.” (Psalm 89:15, KJV)

In the sacred rhythm of life's journey, the Feast of Trumpets heralds a significant moment of reflection and devotion. These dates, rooted in the lunar calendar as outlined in the book of Genesis, are divinely ordained, urging us to acknowledge the seasons established by God. As stated in Leviticus 23:4 (KJV), “These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” This scriptural reference serves as a reminder of our obligation to recognize and respect these sacred periods.

The Sacred Calendar: Key Dates for Observance

Each year, the appointed times of God’s holy days vary, dictated by the lunar cycles that shape our understanding of His divine timing. In the current year, the key dates for observance are as follows:

  • September 19 – Preparation Day

  • September 19 Eve to September 20 Eve – Sabbath Day

  • September 20 Eve to September 21 Eve – New Moon Festival

  • September 21 Eve to September 22 Eve – Feast of Trumpets

These observances require not only a remembrance of past events but also a renewal of our internal dedication to living in a manner that honors God. Each holy day serves a unique purpose, encapsulating the essence of our faith and relationship with the Creator.

Preparing Our Hearts for the Feast of Trumpets

Holiness in celebration begins with preparation. As we approach the Feast of Trumpets, it is essential to prepare our hearts, signifying readiness for a time of spiritual reflection. The command to blow the trumpet at each Sabbath and New Moon echoes throughout scripture, reminding us of the importance of this act:

“In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.” (Leviticus 23:24)

Honoring these holy days extends beyond just acknowledging their dates. It invites each of us to engage in intentional acts of devotion, allowing the sound of the trumpet to serve as a call to awakening. This sacred signal prompts us to align our thoughts and actions with God’s will, creating a space for enrichment and growth in our spiritual journeys.

Furthermore, setting aside time for prayer, reflection, and gathering with fellow believers enhances the significance of these observances. The Feast of Trumpets, in particular, resonates with themes of hope, renewal, and divine proclamation, ultimately guiding us towards a deeper communion with God.

In closing, as we immerse ourselves in the observance of the Feast of Trumpets, let us embrace the invitation to reflect on our lives and commitments to living out our faith. This time not only serves as a call to devotion but also awaits the promise of new beginnings as we usher in God’s appointed seasons. Amen
